No More Tyrant...

Important announcement!

Subtext scans will not be working on nor distributing Tyrant scanlations anymore. We have been contacted by Drama Queen who asked us to cease the distribution of the licensed title. Tyrant scanlations were purely fan made and not for any sort of benefit or profit. We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience we’ve caused.

The downloads for the Tyrant chapters are already down and will not be posted again. We ask of everyone to please stop distributing our work anywhere and take down the download links. If you seen Tyrant chapters scanlated by us, please contact us and let us know. Support Takanaga Hinako sensei and buy your own copy of Tyrant when it's released by Drama Queen.

Again, sorry for the inconveniences we’ve caused.

Yours, Subtext Scans.

P.S.  Thank  you  everyone  for your  support and yes,  we  will continue working on our  unlicensed and  future  projects)))

I am really sorry to hear that but I hope this wont deter you from scanlating the others...

I hope you could ask Dramaqueen when are they going to get the books released...Dont do BB..where the out of print books are sold at ridiciously high price...I know DQ Empty Hearts is one now..T_T

I love Dramaqueen but I hate their time frame of releasing the books...I really pray hard..that by next month, there will be some books release in regular basis...I hope that includes Tyrant. * Keeping Fingers Crossed *

I'm sorry too, however, i saw that coming long time ago. Tyrant scanlations were originally only little side project, not for any benefit nor profit, and planned to be shared only within Takanaga Hinako community. It got out of hand lately and all sorts of issues started to arise, so this had to be done sooner or later. I love Tyrant and myself wish to a have a real copy of the manga. Drama Queen is doing their best to release Tyrant into the masses and overcome issues that prevent that from happening. Lets wish them luck with that.

Let's hope it's a sign saying they'll be releasing it in the near future... wasn't it licensed about 350924235702935 years ago?

Hope you keep working on other projects.

Maybe this is a good sign that Drama Queen is finally going to get back on track.

I would hate for them to prevent people from sharing this story that we are all looking forward to and then never publish.

Thanks for your work on this and hopefully you will keep up the good work on other projects.

*sighs* It was good while it lasted =) Thank you for all your hard work, it was really appreciated ^__^ Hopefully DQ will have the volumes out soon, I've been waiting for the releases since after Challenger was all released and I thought they would start on it right after..oh well I'll just have to continue waiting patently. Again thank you for all the hard work and for the release you did, it was really enjoyable and you guys are awesome ^_-

Thank you for letting us know. It is too bad, but we understand. I also hope this means that DQ is going to have a comeback, though I won't be holding my breath. It am so disappointed with them currently, that it might take a while for me to trust them again, but hopefully they will prove me wrong.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, although it's nice to know that DramaQueen is still alive and kicking. Since they haven't updated their website for months and don't seem to publishing anything...but hey, things happen. I would like to thank you guys for all of your hard work - and especially for keeping the interest in Tyrant alive while DramaQueen was stewing in their own juices. I appreciate everything you've done - and so should they, since the more exposure Tyrant gets, the more people will want to own it when it finally becomes available (been a year now...figure another maybe before DQ releases?)

Thank you for all the hard work you've done so far. I'm definitely planning on buying it. I've had the order for volumes 1 and 2 still on order at the bookstore for 7 months now, so I hope they'll release them soon!

Well, that's what happens when you put it out there (Like on baka-updates) that you're working on a licensed title. *sigh* If only it'd just stayed in the community...

Can't be helped, I suppose. Let's just hope DQ gets on their feet before the entire fifth volume is released...

May 22 2008, 06:32:49 UTC 4 years ago

Well we didn't put it there. I am always updating BU and I only write about our unlicensed projects, so I think that someonle else wrote it there.

So DramaQueen can't release anything but they have time and energy to stop others from doing so. How nice.

But anyway, I want to thank you for what you've done this far. I really appreciate your work!

Dang. I know that licensing a title is a good thing, but it would be nice if they hurried up an actually released it. Oh well. Thanks for your hard work! It was much appreciated ♥

I think I might buy it in German though, they release stuff really</s> fast!

What a pity you won't do Tyrant anymore but I understand. Good that in some countries yaoi manga's are published, I don't live in one of them so all I have to do is wait for one of my national scanlation group to continue this title. Till now they done two volumes and they stuck.
I'm glad you will be doing all the other projects you've planed.
Thank you for your hard work!!!

well i respect your decision, it's just that the fact that i have a scanlated copy is not going to prevent me from buying when i have money T.T
this is what publishing companies have to understand.
i have nothing against stopping scanlations on a project if it becomes licensed, actually i'm really happy to hear that i'll have a copy in my hands and that the author will become more successful and create other wonderful stories, what brings me down are cases like Viewfinder, Haru and so on, manny other mangas that got licensed but there nowhere to be found "hmpf"
i wish that publishing companies will realize soon that the fans for this genre expect a lot more than just empty promises or translations that don't make sense (like Bondz)

If you have a paypal account, you might be able to get copies secondhand from ebay or a friendly person willing to send it to you.

man, this is serious.. as some people here, im from a country that just doesn't get bl manga published. and i don't read german! :(
question i have is: will anyone be so kind to post at least a summary of the raws in Takanaga Hinako community? im sorry, but my knowledge of japanese is just not good enough yet.. i would think that a summary is not going against the wishes of the publisher, is it?

thank you for all your work, you've been great. and i really can't imagine who would be silly enough to put a licenced work on BU.. oh well.. really, domo arigato for all your effort!

[info]leela87

May 25 2008, 06:46:40 UTC 4 years ago

ye, raws and summaries are at least are available on Takanaga Hinako LJ)))
here is the translation of ch 5 if u havent seen it yet: http://nymeria27.livejournal.com/5371.html
and summary of epilogue is somewhere on the community...

GOOOOOOOD!... well, it was just too good to last... i understand your decision not to scan it anymore, but i really HATE DQ now!! they don`t even think of those thousands of fans that`re left behind without any possebility to buy that staff from amazon or anywhere! and even if i go through some million steps just to make an order, eventually i think i will go bankrupt before i can get a G**D**F**!!! copy of what i want... (and considering i want a lot titles from different mags...better not to think/sigh/)
good god, it`s just... that`s not what i wanted right here right now(((

Thank you for all your hard work you've put into this series for us yaoi fans. Like everyone else I find it frustrating that DQ is so lax in getting licensed books out to us. It's interesting that their web site is down, hmmmm... I wonder if that means their getting it ready to announce the release, finally, of their books. I'd like to think so. Thank you again, hope you continue to scanlate for us desperate yaoi fans. :)

This was inevitable but thanks for your work on Tyrant and best of luck with the rest of your projects. I never liked north american publishers. They tarnished their own reputation by pulling shit like this. They tell fan scanlators to stop all work while the fans wait for a good two years after the license agreement is announced before they even get to read the damn thing. By then the original author has probably released 2 volumes if she is working on the series steadily and the quality of the translations are so-so at best. I have heard very little praises for english versions. They should really model themselves after the publishers in the surrounding areas of Japan (e.g. Taiwan, HK) where once its licensed the chinese versions are really no more than 2 volumes behind at worst. At one point Kadokawa Taiwan's Junjou Romantica was at the same pace as the original Japanese tanks and the popularity of the series was enough for Nakamura sensei to hold autograph sessions in Taiwan ...

Thank you so much for your work on this project. LIke everybody's sentiment here, it was good while it last & I am really greatful that you took up this series. I wish Tyrant was licensed by other publishers but oh well, we are at the mercy of DQ. I also hope that the effort they put in monitoring the scanlation is the same as making sure the series is released in US in due time.
